Cape Town - AmaZulu defender Marc van Heerden insists that playing for Bafana Bafana is not the time for him to be auditioning for his club future.
The 27-year-old was speaking in Durban where he was preparing to play for his country in their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Gambia on Saturday.
"Whether I play on Saturday or not, it won't make any difference to my future," he said.
"My performance at the end of the season were hopefully good enough to get a contract somewhere else.
"In saying that I am still contracted to the club and I'll make the decision as to whether I move on or not."
Van Heerden was one of Usuthu's stand-out players as they were relegated from the Premiership at the end of the season.
For obvious reasons, he has been the subject of media speculation linking him with a move away from the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
However, he refused to be drawn onto where he may be playing his football in 2015/16, adding: "My future will be decided by the time the pre-season comes. I'm still contracted with AmaZulu and there is nothing more to say about that."
