Cape Town - Zimbabwean striker, Thomas Chideu, is currently on trial at Ajax Cape Town along with Marcelo Mendes, a former South Africa under-20 defender.
Roger De Sa confirmed the news that he is in the process of running the rule over the two players to the club’s website.
“We have two good players on trial with us, Thomas Chideu, Zimbabwean who is a striker from Highlanders FC and Marcelo Mendes, he’s a defender who played in Denmark but is also a South African U20 player,” De Sa said.
“They have been impressive and have loads of potential, but they are both 19-years-old and are good players for the future.”
De Sa is known to put his trust in young players which means that if Chideu and Mendes impress at the trials they could well see game time in the upcoming PSL season.
The Urban Warriors coach did, however, suggest that he would be bringing in a couple of more experienced players during the transfer window.
"It’s also been pleasing to see how our U19 players have stepped up since they’ve started training with the first team.
"They are doing really well and done their part to show up in training.
"Of cause I’ll look to add two or three more experienced players to the squad. We’ll need a bit more metal, or a bit more muscle if you wanna call it that."
