Cape Town - Golden Arrows will battle it out with Royal Eagles for the services of John Tlale, who was initially reported to be set to replace Arthur Bartman as the new goalkeeper of Abafana Bes’thende.
Sport24 has been told that Tlale might, however, make a shock return to NDF side, Eagles, where he will once again work as the goalkeeper coach.
“Both teams have made contacted with the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper and it will depend on which comes with a better offer,” the source said.
“The thing is that Eagles might offer him a better offer and could end up at the National First Division side for another spell with them.”
The source said management felt it was a mistake to let go of Tlale in the first place and negotiations have already started between the two parties.
Tlale was the goalkeeper coach at Eagles last season and was even amongst the caretaker coaches after the NDF side sacked Duncan Lechesa and his assistant coach, David Notoane.
“A lot of things did not go well at the club last season and the owners of the team feel that letting Tlale go should never have happened,” said the source.
“Serame Letsoaka, who is the new coach at Arrows also has a good relationship with Tlale and wants to have him in his technical team, I guess now it’s up to which team will act faster,” he said.
