Tinkler wants a more rampant Pirates

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach, Eric Tinkler, praised his charges after their important 1-0 victory over SC Sfaxien in Tunisia yesterday, but the coach called for his Pirates players to be more clinical in front of goal.

“We could have scored two more goals today, but we missed great chances to increase the score which could work against us if not improved,” Tinkler said.

Thabo Rakhale was the hero for Pirates as the winger scored a beautiful goal to hand the Soweto giants their second win of the Confederations Cup group stage.

“This is a stage where we need to bury those chances created, but I’m happy that we won the match at the end of the day.”

The Pirates coach said he team should improve their goal scoring abilities and is confident they will get it right going forward.

“We had two great chances after taking the lead and should have buried them to make the game comfortable for us and avoid the scary final minutes of the game,” said Tinkler.
