Cape Town - Eric Tinkler is hopeful that Orlando Pirates can secure CAF Champions League football for next season.

According to Soccer Laduma, Tinkler knows that there is an outside chance that Pirates could catch Kaizer Chiefs but knows that their old foes would have to lose quite a few games for that to happen.
“Look realistically it’s unlikely for Kaizer Chiefs to lose six matches and we would need to win our 13 remaining matches just to be on equal points with them,” said Tinkler.
“Even though there is a mathematical chance, the most important thing for us is to ensure we finish in the top two in order to qualify for the Champions League.
“We had a taste of Champions League football recently and we want to achieve the same thing. There is also the Nedbank Cup we need to defend and I believe the new payers will add to the quality we already have to achieve this,” mentioned the Pirates caretaker coach.
Pirates travel to KwaZulu-Natal for their first PSL encounter against AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday, February 11.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
