Cape Town - Orlando
Pirates coach Eric Tinkler was at a loss for words as the Buccaneers suffered a
2-0 defeat at the a hands of Golden Arrows.
Pirates fell to their
fourth defeat of the season at home to Arrows in an Absa Premiership encounter.
Arrows gradually
played their way into the match and after some solid first-half chances, they
would open the scoring just after the break through Kuda Mahachi.
Pirates did their
level best to respond, but were caught out again when Gladwin Shitolo sealed
the win for the visitors eight minutes from time.
According to
KickOff, Tinkler believes that his side should have at least scored four goals
by the end of the first-half.
"I don't know where to start to be honest. We started
brightly, I felt we should have been at least 4-0 up you know at half-time,”
said Tinkler.
I just encouraged the players to continue what we were doing
going forward, but then we needed to be extremely cautious defensively,
obviously on the counter attack.
Tinkler says that in the second stanza Pirates pilled the
pressure on Arrows and should have scored again in the opening two minutes.
"We obviously started throwing numbers forward, looking
to go get an equaliser. Chances were created but you know it just doesn't want
to go in the net and then they got a second.
"I don't know what to say... I'm disappointed,
obviously."
