Tinkler: It's about mental strength

Cape Town - From this week Orlando Pirates will play a game almost every three days as the new season of the PSL starts while also competing in Africa.

However, the Sea Robbers will no be longer competing in the MTN8 having lost to Ajax Cape Town 1-0 at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Eric Tinkler told Sport24 that it will all be about the players' mental strength as they take on the different challenges.

"We have been in such a situation before and it's all about the mental strength," explained Tinkler.

"Obviously fatigue will crop up, but if you are mentally strong then you can easily manage to mingle between the different tournaments while focusing on the same results which is to win.

"I think the players have what it takes to handle these games as they come."

Pirates face CS Sfaxien on Saturday, August 8 in a CAF Confederation Cup group stage fixture.

Kick-off is at 20:15.
