Tinkler: Bucs can still win title

Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates interim boss Eric Tinkler believes that the Buccaneers have what it takes to win the Premier Soccer League title.

According to the Football411.com website, the Sea Robbers currently lie in fifth in the league standings, 13 points behind table-topping Kaizer Chiefs, but with two games in hand.

With Chiefs having lost just twice in the league this season, it seems unlikely that they will slip up sufficiently to lose their nine-point lead, but Tinkler feels that the pressure of playing in the CAF Champions League will start to take its toll.

"I firmly believe we are still title contenders as long as we keep winning all our games," Tinkler said after his side's 2-0 win over Free State Stars.

"There are still a lot of games to go in this league. We've experienced what it is to play in the CAF Champions League and the pressure that puts you under.

"I think Chiefs is going to start finding it difficult. I think they will start dropping points, It's natural that will happen," he added.
