Thieves target SuperSport

Johannesburg - SuperSport United’s preparations for the important game against newly-promoted side, University of Pretoria, have been disrupted after thieves made away with some the team’s training equipment.

The club found about their missing possessions when they arrived at their training grounds in Pretoria on Thursday morning and, as a result of the unfortunate incident, the team’s training ahead of the derby against Tuks was cancelled.

Matsatsantsa coach, Gavin Hunt, confirmed that the session that was scheduled for Thursday morning was withdrawn due to the missing belongings.

A variety of goods were stolen from the team’s storeroom, including training kit and equipment worth huge sums of money.

Hunt said their new training kit has been delivered in order for the team to continue with the preparations. The matter has been reported to the police for investigation.

SuperSport are planning to get their first league win of the season when they come up against their inexperienced neighbours.
