The expectation is there - Boxall

Cape Town - New SuperSport United signing Michael Boxall says he was not at all surprised by Jeremy Brockie's form last season as he prepares to link up with his compatriot in Pretoria.

Brockie joined Matsatsantsa six months ago and took the PSL by storm, bagging 10 goals in all competitions to help United to an eventual sixth-placed finish in the Premiership.

United coach, Gordon Igesund, has since added another Kiwi to his squad following the capture of Boxall, and while the forward knows Brockie's form will increase expectations on himself, he insists he feels no added pressure to perform.

"I've known Jeremy since we first played together about nine years ago and we know each other very well," Boxall is quoted as saying by KickOff.

"When he made his move and started banging in goals right away I wasn't surprised at all. He's always had that goal-scoring nous and can strike a ball as well as anyone I know."

He added: "I think how well Brockie has done may have put some more expectation on myself, but I don't think there's anyone who puts more pressure on my performances than myself."
