Modise said he was honoured to be appointed as ambassador for kids by the fast food chain who will spend between R10 and R12 million on the programme that will see 400 kids aged between six and 10 being recruited for the 2009 Confederations Cup in South Africa next June and a further 1 400 for the 2010 World Cup finals.
Said Modise: "I am delighted to get this chance to work with kids and put something back into football and to the community."
Modise, 25, follows in the footsteps of Germany captain Michael Ballack, who was the Player Escort Ambassador at the 2006 World Cup finals staged in Germany.
Modise, who is one of the players new Bafana Bafana head coach Jeol Santana is banking on to make South Africa shine at the 2010 showiece, missed Sunday's opening 2010 African Nations Cup Group Four qualifier against Nigeria in Abuja.
The depleted Bafana outfit was thumped 2-0 in a one sided game against a Super Eagles side that never raised a sweat and stolled to a comfortable three points.
But the good news is the toe injury that prevented Modise from flying to Nigeria with his teammates could be healed by Saturday when Bafana face the second of their four back-to-back Group For qualifiers in the form of Equatorial Giunea at Atteridgveille's Super Stadium on Saturday.
Said Modise: "The injury is getting better. It was painful over the weekend but hopefully I will be fit to play on Saturday. "
