Tau: Ready to move on

Johannesburg - Jimmy Tau says he is determined to move on from his surprise Kaizer Chiefs departure and focus his attentions on his future in the PSL.

According to the Football411 website, the 32-year-old joined the Glamour Boys from Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates in 2005, helping the Naturena outfit to two PSL titles, two MTN8 crowns, three Telkom Knockout trophies and two Nedbank Cup successes during his eight-year stay.

However, the veteran defender was shown the door at Naturena at the end of last term, leaving the playmaker unsure over his future heading into the new campaign.

Tau, though, is now ready to move on from the entire situation as he looks towards a continued future in South Africa's top-flight.

"I believe I have exhausted a lot of emotions talking about my release from Chiefs and I think it's about time I drift away from that thought," he told Football411 in an exclusive interview.

"I still have a career to look forward to and I believe there is some interest through my agent. There's nothing more that I can add but to confirm that I am still keen to continue playing football."

Tau's agent Jazzman Mahlakgane further confirmed to this site his client was indeed being monitored by other clubs, although the representative refused to divulge their identities.

"Right now there is nothing solid, but I am speaking to a number of clubs with regards to Jimmy, we are listening to offers and then we shall confirm the club name once we have agreed on everything," he said.

"But for now there's nothing to confirm."
