TKO quarter-final draw procedure

Cape Town - The PSL released a statement regarding the procedure of the Telkom Knockout quarter-final draw.

"The draw for the Telkom Knockout quarter-final is being done ahead of the Orlando Pirates vs University of Pretoria match on 16 October," read the statement.

"This is being done in order to maximize the amount of time available for arranging the venues, dates and times of the matches and making all the necessary arrangements.

"In an unseeded draw we would simply have a draw a slip showing Orlando Pirates / University of Pretoria, and the winning team would go through to the next round as drawn.

"This particular round of the Telkom Knockout is however seeded, meaning that the highest finishing four teams from last year’s ABSA Premiership are kept separate from the remaining four teams.

"Once we know the result of the match on 16 October, the following will occur:

1. We will delete the name of the losing team out of Orlando Pirates or University of Pretoria on the one draw slip, leaving Maritzburg United to play as drawn

2. On the other draw slip we will delete the name of Maritzburg United and retain the name of the winner of the outstanding match to play as drawn.

Seeded pot: Kaizer Chiefs, Free State Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns and Mpumalanga Black Aces

Unseeded pot: Orlando Pirates/Maritzburg United, University of Pretoria/Maritzburg United, Supersport United and Lamontville Golden Arrows.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
