Swallows recorded their first clean sheet of the season when they held Bloemfontein Celtic to a goalless draw on Sunday.

The Soweto side has claimed seven points from nine home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are AmaZulu, Mamelodi Sundowns and Polokwane City (all away).

The Birds are placed 14th on the league standings with 15 points from as many matches.

Pirates returned to winning form by racking up their biggest win of the season, 4-0 at home to Ajax Cape Town on Saturday.

The Soweto giants have claimed 11 points from seven away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bloemfontein Celtic (home), AmaZulu (away) and Polokwane City (home).

The Buccaneers are placed fifth on the PSL log with 22 points from 15 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Swallows and Pirates have met in 59 league matches since 1985.

The Buccaneers have 23 wins compared to 12 for the Birds, while 24 matches have been drawn.

Swallows have won just six of their 28 home matches against Pirates, suffering 11 defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season at Orlando Stadium, goals from Phalane and Chabangu took the Birds to a 2-1 away win.

Kick-off at 19:30 on Wednesday, December 17.
