Johannesburg - Moroka Swallows confirmed that the club have signed Brazilian midfielder, Thiago Rodrigo Dos Santos, on a three-year deal.

According to Soccer Laduma, the Dube Birds CEO Leon Prins confirmed that the deal is done but the player is still awaiting his work permit before he can feature for Zeca Marques’ side.

“It’s done, but he's had to go for his work permit,” said Prins.

“He's a good player, very versatile, and we need him, that's for sure. We're under pressure right now and our squad is a bit thin.”

Dos Santos is Swallows’ fourth foreigner on their books and have place for just one more overseas based player if they wish to fill the void.

Marques will be eager to get the left-footed midfielder playing as soon as possible after his side's recent bad run of games following back-to-back losses against Bidvest Wits and Chippa United.

When the Absa Premiership resumes next weekend, Moroka Swallows take on Free State Stars at Goble Park on Saturday, September 27.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
