Swallows in need of points

Cape Town - Moroka Swallows will host high-flying Ajax Cape Town for an Absa Premiership clash at the Dobsonville Stadium.

Swallows broke a seven-game winless streak in the league with a 2-1 victory at Maritzburg United in their last outing.

The Soweto side has claimed six points from seven home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Platinum Stars (home), Bloemfontein Celtic (away) and Orlando Pirates (home).

The Birds are placed 13th on the PSL log with 13 points from 12 matches.

Ajax returned to winning form in the league when they defeated Bloemfontein Celtic 1-0 at home in their last outing.

The Cape side has claimed five points from as many away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are SuperSport United (home), Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates (both away).

The Urban Warriors are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 21 points from 12 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Swallows and Ajax have met in 30 league matches since 1999/2000.

The Birds have 13 wins compared to 12 for the Urban Warriors, while just five matches have been drawn.

Swallows have won nine of their 15 home matches against Ajax, suffering four defeats in the process.
