Swallows enter last lap

Cape Town - Moroka Swallows will look to avoid relegation from the Absa Premiership when they host Bloemfontein Celtic at Dobsonville Stadium.

Swallows dropped to the bottom position in midweek when they lost 2-1 at Ajax Cape Town.

The Soweto side has claimed 14 points from as many home matches this season.

The Birds are placed 16th on the Absa Premiership log with 27 points from 29 matches.

Celtic suffered a second successive defeat when they were beaten 1-0 at home by Free State Stars in midweek.

The Bloemfontein side has claimed 20 points from 14 away matches this season.

Phunya Sele Sele are placed sixth on the Absa Premiership log with 40 points from 29 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Swallows and Celtic have met in 54 league matches since 1985.

The Birds have 18 wins compared to 16 for Phunya Sele Sele, while no less than 20 matches have been drawn.

Swallows have won 12 of their 26 home matches against Celtic, suffering four defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, they played to a goalless stalemate in Bloemfontein.

Kick-off is at 15:00 on Saturday, May 2015.
