Sundowns target strong finish

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns and University of Pretoria will end their Absa Premiership campaign with a derby match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Sundowns secured a second-place finish with a 2-1 away win over SuperSport United in midweek.

The Tshwane side has claimed 25 points from 14 home matches this season.

The Brazilians are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 54 points from 29 matches.

University of Pretoria suffered an eighth successive winless match when they were beaten 2-1 at home by AmaZulu in midweek.

The Tshwane side has claimed 16 points from 14 away matches this season.

AmaTuks are placed 13th on the Absa Premiership log with 32 points from 29 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Sundowns and Tuks have met in five previous league matches since 2012/13.

The Brazilians boast an unbeaten record in the sequence, with two wins to their name and three draws.

Sundowns have won one and drawn one of their two home matches against Tuks.

When the teams met earlier this season, goals from Mnyamane and Billiat saw them play out a 1-1 draw.

Kick-off is at 15:00 on Saturday, May 9.
