Sundowns make first signing

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns have strengthened their goalkeeping department with the addition of Zama Dlamini.

According to the Soccer Laduma website, Dlamini, 22, played for Thanda Royal Zulu in the National First Division (NFD) before his trial with Sundowns last month.

Dlamini confirmed his move on his Facebook page, writing: “Yes I’m a Mamelodi Sundowns Football Player *soccer* !!! ...God is Great, believe me when I say that!!!!."

Dlamini joins a host of goalkeepers at the six-time PSL champions, which includes Kennedy Mweene, Wayne Sandilands, Thela Ngobeni and Glenn Verbauwhede, while Denis Onyango is also expected to return to the club after his loan deal at Bidvest Wits.

The Brazilians clinched the 2013/14 PSL title with a match to spare. They currently lead the standings by four points with a final match against Maritzburg United to play on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 15:00.

This year's title was Sundowns' sixth, but their first since 2007.
