Sundowns claimed a sixth win from their last seven league matches when they crushed Polokwane City 5-0 last week.

The Tshwane side has claimed 21 points from 10 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Black Aces (away), Bloemfontein Celtic and Platinum Stars (both home).

The Brazilians are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 43 points from 22 matches.

Chippa’s winless run was extended to 11 league matches when they were held 1-1 at home by AmaZulu on Friday.

The Eastern Cape side has claimed seven points from 11 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bidvest Wits (away), Moroka Swallows and Bloemfontein Celtic (both home).

The Chilli Boys are placed 12th on the Absa Premiership log with 25 points from 23 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Sundowns and Chippa have met in three league matches since 2012/13.

The Brazilians have one win to their name, while the other two matches ended in draws.

Sundowns’ only previous home match against Chippa was a 1-0 win in the first half of the 2012/13 season.

When the teams met earlier this season in the Eastern Cape they played to a 1-1 stalemate.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, March 18.
