Sundowns duo in at Maritzburg

Cape Town – Sibusiso Kumalo and Kwanda Mngonyama have joined Maritzberg United on a season long loan from Sundowns.

United have already lost the services of Rheece Evans, Michael Morton, Mario Booysen and Ruben Cloete while they released Robyn Johannes, Delron Buckley and Dillon Sheppard from their contracts.

Kumalo and Mngonyama have struggled to break into the Brazilians starting line-up and were given a life line after the club decided to put them out on loan.

Mngonyama had a loan spell with Bidvest Wits but his form was not enough for Gavin Hunt to make it a permanent move while Kumalo spent most of Sundowns championship season on the bench.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
