Johannesburg - After defeating Black leopards 5-1 in yesterday’s (Sunday) Absa Premiership fixture, Mamelodi Sundowns donated R50 000 towards Breast Cancer Awareness.

R10 000 was donated for each goal scored, with The Brazilians netting five. The team’s marketing and communications manager, Brian Baloyi, told Soccer-Laduma that since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, they decided that they too would like to contribute to the campaign.

"We decided that since this was the last game in October we should use it to donate money to the Breast Cancer Awareness. We decided that for each goal that Sundowns scores we will donate R10 000 which means that we have donated R50 000 in total.

“We are happy that the players helped us achieve our goal to help other people through football," the former goalkeeper concluded.
