According to KickOff, Sredojevic was supposed to get the job in June but Ea Lla Koto opted to offer the post to Tom Sainfiet.
But following a string of poor results, Sainfiet was given the sack and now Sredojevic is back on top of the list to get the vacant position.
Sredojevic is currently the coach of the Uganda national team and it has been revealed that the 45-year-old's contract is due to expire in December.
Reports suggest that the Stars’ hierarchy are already talking to the former Rwanda coach and the chances are increasing that he might be the next Ea Lla Koto coach.
Meanwhile, Stars travel to Port Elizabeth where they take on Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday, November 26.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
