Durban - Platinum Stars assistant coach Willem Jackson agrees with the fact that his charges will not be the favourites in the MTN8 final against Orlando Pirates.
Dikwena will lock horns against the Buccaneers for the grand prize of R8m at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday night (20:15 kick-off).
The former Bafana Bafana and Pirates defender told the club’s official website that although Bucs are favourites to triumph, Dikwena will not sit back and give them a free ride, but instead make them sweat for their money.
“We are not here to make up numbers and we’re going to give Pirates a run for their money. Yes, we’re underdogs, but they’re not going to get things easily,” said Jackson.
Stars defeated Wits 6-3 on aggregate before booking a ticket to the much anticipated meeting with the Happy People.
The last time Stars won championship silverware was back in 2006 when they beat Ajax Cape Town in the Telkom Knockout final at
Atteridgeville in Pretoria.
Jackson, 41, featured for Stars in that match under the reign of Owen Da Gama.
