The Clever Boys brought in a massive 13 new faces prior to the current campaign, with Gavin Hunt adding a mix of youth and experience to boost his side's bid for silverware.

Hunt's troops have made a promising start to the campaign, having made it to the semi-finals of the MTN8, while sitting third in the Premiership standings and with a Telkom Knockout quarter-final clash against SuperSport United on the horizon.

Shongwe believes that this solid start is down to the impact that the newcomers have made, with more still to come.

“When you look at the squad that has been assembled by the coach, the reinforcements that we made was all necessary and the squad is now a balanced mixture of youth and experience," he told Football411.

“The new signings are all doing well for us; we are all doing well and working for one another to benefit the team.

“The competition for places is high also because there are quality players in every position so whoever gets the chance to play on the day wants to grab the opportunity with both hands."
