Cape Town - Polokwane City will not be retaining a number of their veteran players as the club goes through a shake up in preparation for the new season.
The club has parted ways with experienced defender, Joseph Musonda while the club will also release Modiri Marumo, Benson Mhlongo and Ghanaian striker, Ransford Osei.
Sport24 has been informed that coach, Kosta Papic, is releasing a number of the ageing players as he feels they cannot longer fit into his style of play.
“We all know that Papic likes attacking football playing at a high tempo and to do that, you need young players and that is why he is going for young blood,” the source said.
“The coach is still assessing his squad and there will be a number of changes before the season starts.
City has already acquired the services of Punch Masenamela from Mamelodi Sundowns and a number of youngsters.
