Shai to remain at Chippa

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Siyabulela Shai, who was on loan at Chippa United last season, will soon make Port Elizabeth his permanent home.

The two teams have agreed that youngster can stay at Chippa United as his contract with the Brazilians won't be renewed.

His contract with Sundowns is coming to an end on Tuesday, June 30 and they are not going to renew it.

A Sport24 source close to the player said that the son of Sundowns legend, Isaac Shai, won't stay longer at the club that groomed him.

"It seems he is not in coach Pitso Mosimane‘s plans hence the team won't be renewing his current contract which comes to an end on Tuesday," the source said.

“It's unfortunate because he is a good player, and he has history with Sundowns, but Chippa will obviously benefit from the deal.”
