Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs captain Siphiwe Tshabalala said he was delighted by the shift the team put in against Platinum Stars after eventually carving out a 3-0 win on Sunday.
Amakhosi went into half-time at the Moruleng Stadium with a 1-0 lead thanks to Eric Mathoho's header, although they had to wait until second-half stoppage time to get their other goals, with Siphelele Mthembu and George Maluleka making sure of the win.
Chiefs are now through to the draw for the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals, and Tshabalala admits he was happy with the way the Glamour Boys handled themselves against the Premiership leaders.
"It's about hard work and the help that I get from my colleagues, it hasn't been easy, we didn't have one of those great starts, but it's a work progress, but we'll keep going," Tshabalala said after the game.
"I'm happy that we came here under the circumstances and did the job."
He added: "I'm always the target man, it's good challenge, I embrace it, it also helps me grow as an individual, so I welcome the challenge and keep working hard."
