Shabba: We want to defend our trophy

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs captain Siphiwe Tshabalala tells Sport24 that they were ready and waiting for either team in the MTN8 Final.

Chiefs qualified for the MTN8 final on Saturday, August 29 after defeating Bloemfontein Celtic

On Sunday, August 30 it was confirmed Amakhosi will play Ajax Cape Town in the final on September 19.

Ajax beat Bidvest Wits 1-0 on the day, to qualify 2-1 on aggregate, the same scoreline that Chiefs qualified by.

Tshabalala said that both the teams are good and for them to reach this far just proves how good they are.

"When you reach the final you have to be ready for any team that joins you there," Tshabalala said.

"We couldn't have chosen a team. We were ready for any team.

"Now we know we going to play against Ajax Cape Town. We respect them.

"They are a good team and we will be preparing very well for that game as we want to defend our trophy."
