Shabba: We have to pull up our socks

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs have not started the season the way they would have liked to as they did last season.

Club captain Siphiwe Tshabalala tells Sport24 that they are aware they have not started the season brightly.

However, Shabba believes that the current crop of Glamour Boys have what it takes to turn things around, starting with reclaiming the MTN8 Cup.

"We haven't really started the season on a good note," Tshabalala said.

"We have not done well in the league, though we are in the semi-finals of the MTN8.”

Amakhosi are unbeaten in all official games this season, with one win and two draws in the PSL, while they’ve also won one and drawn one [the first leg of the semi-final] in the MTN8.

"We have to pull up our socks if we are to be a team to reckoned with, and do that by winning games,” Shabba continued.

"The players we have are ready to do that.”

Chiefs take on Bloemfontein Celtic in the second leg on Saturday, August 29 at the FNB Stadium.

Kick-off is at 20:15.
