Cape Town - Free State Stars striker Moeketsi Sekola is not at all perturbed by his exclusion from the national squad ahead of the friendlies against Nigeria and Swaziland.

Sekola, who is still the joint leading-scorer this season, did catch the attention of South Africa coach Shakes Mashaba last year.

However, he has since fallen out of favour with the national selectors but remains optimistic about his chances of making an impression in the foreseeable future.

“To me I was not that surprised but I don't know the plan for the coach and maybe he knows why he left me out but that won't distract me," Sekola told KickOff on Wednesday.

“I'm going to keep working hard and I know my chance will come.

“What is left for me to do as I said initially, is to keep working hard regardless of whatever the coach chooses to do, because he said he will give others the chance to show what they have got.”

Bafana Bafana are set to play two international friendly games.

On March 25 South Africa will play Swaziland (kick-off is at 19:00) before hosting Nigeria at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday, March 29 (kick-off is at 15:00).
