Sekola committed to Stars

Bethlehem - Despite speculation linking him with moves to Mamelodi Sundowns or Kaizer Chiefs, Free State Stars striker Moeketsi Sekola has confirmed that he will be playing for Ea Lla Koto in the 2015/16 Absa Premiership campaign.

Sekola has enjoyed a fantastic season for Stars as he managed to clinch the Lesley Manyathela golden boot after finishing as the Premier Soccer League’s top goal-scorer, grabbing 14 goals and also helping the Bethlehem-based team avoid relegation.

The 26-year-old goal poacher said he still wants to grow as a footballer and improve on his finishing before making any move to the giants of South African football.

The Botshabelo-born target man also hinted that money will not influence his decision to move, even if a club like big spending Sundowns come knocking at his door.

“No I’m not going anywhere near Gauteng, trust me,” said Sekola.

“My blood is red and white, and again I will still be playing for Free State Stars next season.

“I believe that I still have a lot to offer this team and I still want to grow as a player.

“I still have a lot to improve on, like my finishing touches in front of goal.

“Next season if I get three chances in a game, I want to make sure that I at least score all of them.

“I really want to improve from the past season because I use to bury one chance out of the three I got.

“Money or no money, I’m sure of my decision and it will stand.

“I am not going to Pirates, Chiefs or Sundowns.”
