Segolela hails Pirates' spirit

Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates winger Tlou Segolela has called on his fellow teammates to approach their MTN8 semi-final first leg match against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday the same way they did before facing African giants Zamalek in the CAF Champions League.

According to Orlando Pirates' official website, Segolela intimated that should Pirates use the same strategy as in their 4-1 victory over Zamalek, they will be able to overcome their arch-rivals.

"In the Champions League we go for the kill from the word go," he said.

"We have to play this match (against Chiefs) as if we do not know the opposition, just like we do when we play in the Champions League.

"Chiefs is a good team but I just think we have turned the corner after making a great turnaround against SuperSport United in the quarter-finals of the MTN8 and now against Zamalek in the Champions League," he added.

"We trained twice today (Tuesday) and the spirit in the group is great – we all want to play and this type of atmosphere is the same atmosphere we had when we won the trebles – we just have to maintain our momentum and make it work for us; the fact that we are away to them first is good for us," concluded Segolela.

Meanwhile, midfielder Andile Jali did light training with the rest of the squad today and according to Head Coach Roger de Sa, Jali will have to pass a late fitness test on Friday before being considered for selection ahead of the derby on Saturday afternoon.
