Scott lauds 'mentor' De Sa

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town stalwart Granwald Scott has tipped his hat to coach Roger de Sa for his steering the team to two consecutive cup finals.

The Urban Warriors are gearing up for Saturday's MTN8 decider against Kaizer Chief at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, but are still looking to get over their Nedbank Cup defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in last season's showpiece clash.

"He (De Sa) is more than just a coach - he is a mentor and a father figure to the players," Scott told KickOff.

"What I admire most is the fact that he is very approachable and accessible. You can speak to the coach regarding any matter on and off the field.

"I think that is exactly what the younger players are feeling and why the team is in such a good space.

"It shows in our performances and results as well.

"This would be great reward for us all - players, coaching staff and the management. I’ve been involved in six previous cup finals and only won twice.

"It would surely be nice to swap the tears of heartache for tears of joy."
