Schut up for 'must win' game

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns captain Alje Schut knows his side can ill-afford any slip ups when they take on Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

The Brazilians have looked out of sorts during their Premiership title defence, having won just three of their opening six league matches to already sit eight points off the pace of leaders Kaizer Chiefs.

However, the Tshwane giants have secured victories in their last two outings, against AmaZulu and Bloemfontein Celtic, having bounced back from a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Orlando Pirates at the end of August.

And, although Rise and Shine are currently occupying the relegation zone with just four points, Schut is refusing to take anything for granted this weekend.

"It's very simple, we need to win Sunday's game. We've recovered well since the Pirates game," Schut told The Sowetan.

"We were starting to lose ground on Chiefs, but did well to win against AmaZulu and Celtic."

Kick-off is at 15:00 on Sunday, September 28.
