According to KickOff, the 33-year-old Schut believes he is ready to feature for the Brazilians in their next encounter against Polokwane City.
“I had a knock against Pirates on my ankle. I recovered from the injury but again bumped into Hlompho Kekana at training,” said Schut.
“We still have to see how is the fitness after I was out for three weeks now. However I think will be fine for the next game.”
The former FC Utrecht defender took a knock to the ankle in Sundowns' 3-0 defeat to the Sea Robbers and aggravated the injury in training when he clashed with midfielder Hlompho Kekana.
However, it will rest on the shoulders of Sundowns’ technical team whether the defender will be available for their match against Rise and Shine.
In head-to-head stats, Polokwane and Sundowns have met in just two previous league matches. Both of those encounters took place last season, with each side managing a 1-0 home win.
The Brazilians are currently fifth in the Absa Premiership standings, eight points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs while Kosta Papic charges are placed 15th on the Absa Premiership standings with four points from six matches.
The match will be played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday, September 28.
Kick-off for the match is at 15:00.
