Cape Town - Chippa United defender Mbuyiselo Sambu said that the Chilli Boys are still struggling to replicate their training session tactics to the field of play during matches following their defeat to Ajax Cape Town on Friday.

The Chilli Boys went 2-0 down to the Urban Warriors in a PSL encounter at the Cape Town stadium courtesy of Erwin Isaacs and Milton Ncube strikes.

The former Free State Stars man marker has hinted that the Port Elizabeth based outfit failed to close down the Urban Warriors attack which led to their disappointing defeat.

"I think we opened a lot of spaces in the middle of the park," Sambu said.

"We didn’t close them enough to stop their attack.

"Even the free kick which we conceded was because we didn’t close them down and Erwin Isaacs capitalised from that.

"We also created our own chances but we still fail to convert them.

"The coach also told us to continue fighting and keep believing that we’ll be able to get goals.

"I think what we are currently doing in training is not coming together yet when we play matches but we are working hard on that."

A loss for United kept them at the bottom half of the log, on the 11th place, with ten games remaining.

Their next game will be against the inform Polokwane City at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium on Wednesday.
