SSU welcome Klate back

Cape Town - SuperSport United Football Club has acquired midfielder Daine Klate on loan from Orlando Pirates today until the end of the current season with immediate effect. The midfielder has signed a six-month loan contract and he and Matsatsantsa are in advanced discussions for Klate to sign a pre-contract with the player for July 2015.

“Daine is a very experienced player who will be a valuable asset for the team and our younger players in particular,” said SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews.

“We’re very pleased to have him back with the Club where his career started and look forward to him making a big contribution to our efforts in bringing further success to our Club.”

Klate, 29, joins United after appearing in over 100+ League and Cup games for Pirates.

Additionally, Klate is the most decorated domestic player having won five league titles, six cup medals, and a CAF champion’s league final appearance and represented the National Team, earning 10 caps at the senior level.

As a graduate of SuperSport United's youth academy, Klate knows the culture and inner workings of the club and should adjust quickly to life back at Matstsantsa a Pitori.
