SSU weighing up options for Pietersen

Cape Town - SuperSport United are weighing options to sign Roscoe Pietersen, who has attracted attention from a number of PLS clubs trying to lure him away from the Gordon Igesund’s side.

Sport24 has been told that Matsatsantsa management and the coaching staff are looking at options that will suit the defender going forward as he is unlikely to remain with the club.

“The club is finalising their squad for the new season and it looks likely that Pietersen will go on loan as there are number of clubs interested in his services,” the source said.

“Look, there are clubs who value the defender and are willing to take him away from SuperSport and that could happen before the start of the new season.”

Pieterson was loaned out to AmaZulu during the second round of last season, but returned to his mother club following Usuthu’s relegation to the NFD.

According to the source, The University of Pretoria is among teams keen to have Pietersen on their books while a return to Chippa United is also a possibility.
