SSU out to stop Chiefs' train

Cape Town - SuperSport United will host Absa Premiership leaders Kaizer Chiefs at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

SuperSport picked up their first win of 2015 when they defeated Black Aces 1-0 on Saturday.

The Tshwane side has claimed 11 points from nine home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are AmaZulu, Ajax Cape Town (both home) and Bloemfontein Celtic (away).

Matsatsantsa are placed eighth on the PSL standings with 24 points from 18 matches.

Chiefs resumed their league campaign in 2015 with a goalless draw away to Bloemfontein Celtic.

The Soweto side has claimed 23 points from nine away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Ajax Cape Town, Orlando Pirates (both home) and Maritzburg United (away).

The Amakhosi are placed first on the Absa Premiership log with 47 points from 19 matches.

In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and Chiefs have met in 48 league matches since 1990.

Matsatsantsa have 18 wins compared to 17 for Amakhosi, while 13 matches have been drawn.

SuperSport have won seven of their 23 home matches against Chiefs, suffering seven defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, goals from Masango and Nkhatha took Amakhosi to a 2-0 home win.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Tuesday, February 17.
