SSU eager to triumph AmaTuks

Cape Town - SuperSport United and University of Pretoria will battle in an Absa Premiership derby at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

SuperSport suffered a third successive league loss when they went down 1-0 away to Bloemfontein Celtic in midweek.

The Tshwane side has claimed 14 points from 12 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Maritzburg United, Platinum Stars (both away) and Moroka Swallows (home).

Matsatsantsa are placed 10th on the Absa Premiership log with 27 points from 22 matches.

University of Pretoria saw their unbeaten run ended at eight games when they lost 1-0 at home to Platinum Stars in midweek.

The Tshwane side has claimed 14 points from 10 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bloemfontein Celtic (away), Kaizer Chiefs (home) and Ajax Cape Town (away).

AmaTuks are placed seventh on the log with 29 points from 22 matches.

In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and Tuks have met in five league matches since 2012/13.

Matsatsantsa boast an unbeaten record in that sequence, with four wins and a draw from the five games. The University side has yet to score a goal in the rivalry.

SuperSport have won both of their previous home matches against Tuks, both by a 1-0 score line.

When the teams met earlier this season, Matsatsantsa claimed an emphatic 3-0 away win over their Tshwane rivals.

Kick-off is at 20:15 on Saturday, March 14.
