SSU chase AmaZulu win

Cape Town - SuperSport United will look to continue their fine form in the Absa Premiership when they host AmaZulu at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

SuperSport have claimed 10 points from the last 12 available in the league and notably handed leaders Kaizer Chiefs their first defeat of the season last time out.

The Tshwane side has claimed 14 points from 10 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Ajax Cape Town (home), Bloemfontein Celtic (away) and University of Pretoria (home).

Matsatsantsa are placed sixth on the Absa Premiership with 27 points from 19 matches.

AmaZulu suffered a fourth successive defeat when they went down 1-0 at home to Mamelodi Sundowns in midweek.

The Durban side has claimed five points from 10 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Black Aces (away), Bidvest Wits (home) and Chippa United (away).

Usuthu are placed 16th on the Absa Premiership log with nine points from 19 matches.

In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and AmaZulu have met in 38 league matches since 1990.

Matsatsantsa have 18 wins compared to 11 for Usuthu, while nine matches have been drawn.

SuperSport have won 12 of their 18 home matches against AmaZulu, suffering just two defeats in the process.

Last season Usuthu took four points off Matsatsantsa, drawing 1-1 in Durban and winning 1-0 in Tshwane.

Kick-off is at 15:30 on Sunday, March 10.
