According to KickOff, Chiefs spokesman Vina Maphosa reveals that the 24-year-old was not among the names that would leave the club.
“His name has never appeared anywhere close to those of players faced with a possibility of moving,” said Maphosa.
“At the club he is not one of the likely movers.”
Rusike has found himself down the pecking order as Bernard Parker, new recruit David Zulu, Katlego Mphela and Siphelele Mthembu are all ahead of the forward.
Meanwhile Chiefs return to PSL action when they face Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday, February 11.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
