Rosslee 'sorry' for outburst

Rosslee admitted to being interviewed by Soccer Laduma in which he is reported to have blasted Pirates and the way they handled the coaching situation. The former Ajax Cape Town coach had served as assistant to Ruud Krol and the duo brought a treble to the Buccanners but were not offered new contracts. That, it would seem, infuriated Rosslee, who let loose in the said interview Laduma.

Subsequent to that, Pirates made their intentions clear to haul the former assistant to a disciplinary tribunal stating that he made such comments while still in the employ of the club.

In an ab out-turn on Tuesday, Rosslee, who was schedule to face the Pirates music on Wednesday, issued an unreserved apology through the relegated club’s official website. He stated that he “was not too happy with the way the tabloid twisted the dialogue”. He further added that he has had a very pleasant tow- year stay at Pirates and that while disappointed at not getting the first team coaching position, had huge admiration for the entire administration of Pirates. The statement further said “he has apologised to those that were close too him at Pirates and has explained that the interview published was not an accurate perspective of the discussions.”

It is not clear at this stage whether Pirates will accept this apology but the hearing started at 09:30am on Wednesday and the club is expected to release a statement afterwards.

Meanwhile, Aces have announced they secured the services of at least nine of the key players following the club’s relegation. Players like Lindokuhle Mbatha, Vusiwe "TK" Masondo, Gordon Gilbert, Nicolas Killas, Sandile Zuke, Junior Nkosi, Felix Musasa, Thokozane "Director" Khanyile are reported to have joined the team for pre-season training.

At the same time, the club has invited a number of hopefuls for trails with the hope of securing the best of the lot. Among those who pitched up for trails are former Platinum Stars midfielder, Edward Williams, former Aces defender, Lucas Thlomelang and Siphamandla Vilakazi (midfielder) who was on the books of Moroka Swallows in the 2009/10 season.

Former Pirates midfield star Steve Lekoelea is also reported to have trained with the team this week.
