Roger De Sa escapes injury

Cape Town - Following their away draw against struggling AmaZulu, Orlando Pirates coach Roger De Sa had to be escorted out of the stadium by policemen after an angry group of the Happy People's supporters threw missiles at him.

According to the Kick Off website, the Buccaneers and Usuthu played to a 1-all stalemate in their Absa Premiership clash at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban on Thursday night.

Pirates’ defender Ayanda Ngcaba was on target for De Sa’s charges in the 55th minute, but his opener was cancelled out by his Usuthu counterpart, Carlington Nyadombo, 10 minutes later.

The result meant that the Sea Robbers are still outside the top half of the log and winless in this calendar year which infuriated their loyal supporters.

The Buccaneers lost 2-0 to SuperSport United over the weekend heading and it is rumoured that the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper’s job might be in jeopardy.

Pirates' next fixture is against Ajax Cape Town at the Orlando Stadium on Monday, January 27. Kick-off is at 19:30.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
