Rodgers set for Dikwena

Cape Town - Platinum Stars will be adding Mamelodi Sundowns striker Eleazar Rodgers to their squad for the upcoming 2014/15 PSL season.

According to Soccer Laduma, Rodgers is finalising his move to Dikwena as he believes the MTN8 champions suit his playing style.

“I will am going to join Platinum Stars that’s correct but we’re still finalising the papers. Possibly this week we’ll complete everything and I can join them,” said the 29-year-old.

“I’m happy to move because if you look at the team itself, you see the guys are high in confidence.  They’re working hard and have ambitions, I believe I can fit judging by their style of play.”

Rodgers spent six years with Santos before Sundowns lured him to Chloorkop but failed to impress with less than 20 appearances for the Brazilians.

Last season the striker spent a season on loan at Ajax Cape Town and knows that he won’t just walk into the starting XI at Dikwena.

Stars take on newly promoted side Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, August, 9.
