Cape Town - Mandla Masango's sizzling form for Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana has caught the eye of French side Rennes, according to his agent.

The midfielder has raised his game this season following two years on the fringes of the Amakhosi line-up, but could soon be lost to a European team.

His representative, Walter Mokoena, has confirmed that the Ligue 1 outfit's director of football Jean Luc Buisine is monitoring the 25-year-old's progress.

"In fact, he has promised to call me before the Soweto derby (to discuss Masango)," Mokoena revealed to The Sowetan.

"He is still part of Chiefs and we must respect that. There is no pressure, although his contract at the club expires at the end of the season."

The Soweto derby between Chiefs and rivals Orlando Pirates is scheduled for Saturday, November 1 at the FNB Stadium.

Kick-off at 15:00.
