Rama honoured to lead 'Downs

Cape Town - The privilege of leading Absa Premiership juggernauts Mamelodi Sundowns this season is not lost on captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele.

Mphahlele replaced Alje Schut as the club's skipper, after the Dutch defender returning home to the Netherlands at the end of last season.

The 25-year-old will skipper the Brazilians against Wits at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

"It's a great honour. It's a great responsibility to captain Sundowns," Mphahlele told Soccer Laduma.

"I know I still have a lot to learn from the other ones around me just as I have learnt from the other captains who have been here before.

"Sundowns is a big club with great ambitions and I want to help the team win trophies this season and beyond."

Kick-off is at 15:00.
