Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Thabo Rakhale admits he is relishing the chance to face former club Polokwane City when the two teams lock horns in the Premiership on Saturday evening.

The playmaker returned to the Buccaneers at the beginning of the campaign following a loan spell with Rise and Shine last term, and has already started cementing his place in Eric Tinkler's first-team squad.

And, with Rakhale privy to the goings-on at Polokwane, he is hopeful of using his insider information to help the Sea Robbers come out on top of this weekend's Orlando Stadium encounter.

"It's always exciting to face your former team. I formed a bond and know the guys quite well so to find ourselves on opposite ends will be special," he told Pirates' official website.

"I am sure it will be a hard fought contest because I want to do well for my team and help Pirates win the match, but they (Polokwane City) will especially want to shut me down for precisely those reasons.

"The approach to City will be like any other match: I expect a tough challenge from them. They are just behind us on the log and their league form is very good.

“I am sure they will look to advance at our expense but our goal is to collect three points for every match we play until the end of the season.

"Polokwane City is the team that afforded me a platform to adjust to playing in the PSL and that will always be a special memory for me.

“But having said that I would love nothing more than to play on the weekend, and be on the winning side."
