Rakhale: We fought as a team

Cape Town - On Sunday Orlando Pirates beat Tunisian side SC Sfaxien 1-0 to remain on course to qualify for the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Despite scoring the lone goal on the night, midfielder Thabo Rakhale tells Sport24 that it was all about team work.

"It was team work," Rakhale said.

"It was a team effort and we achieved the win together.

"We would have loved to score more goals but the most important thing is that we won the game and we are still in the running to qualify for the semifinals of the tournament.

"It was not easy but as a team we fought together and we won the game."

The Sea Robbers play their next Confederations Cup game against AC Leopards on August 22.

Pirates will return to the Orlando Stadium for their CAF home fixtures having played their last 'home' game in the Mbombela Stadium while their turf in Soweto was being repaired.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
